She is vice chair of the Senate Labor and Commerce and Housing committees and serves on the Transportation Committee. Previously a state representative, Seattle Office of Housing director, affordable-housing nonprofit executive, Planned Parenthood staff member, and community organizer, she is an attorney and University of Washington School of Law graduate.
