Emily Alvarado is the Democratic state senator for Washington's 34th Legislative District. She is vice chair of the Senate Labor and Commerce and Housing committees and serves on the Transportation Committee. Previously a state representative, Seattle Office of Housing director, affordable-housing nonprofit executive, Planned Parenthood staff member, and community organizer, she is an attorney and University of Washington School of Law graduate.
