  • Brown testified before a Texas House committee about third-party ballot access on January 21, 2020, after paying the state's new $3,125 candidate filing fee. He called the fee a violation of equal protection, because Libertarians were charged to help pay for primary elections their party does not hold. He said the good part of the same law was its other route onto the ballot, open to parties that reached a set share of the statewide vote.
