Jim Holcomb is a retired Orlando firefighter, former exceptional-student-education teacher, and home builder. His campaign biography says he served as an Orlando firefighter from 1974 through 2004, taught in Mount Dora from 2005 through 2013, earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Central Florida in 1974 and a master's degree from National Louis University in 2010, and previously ran for local office. Florida election records show he filed but did not qualify for state House District 32 in 2022 and qualified for the 2026 Republican gubernatorial primary.
