John D. Hancock Jr. is the 2026 Libertarian nominee for Ohio's 1st Congressional District. A Cincinnati native, engineering technician, and part-time engineering student, he joined the Libertarian Party in 2022 and has served as a county officer and national delegate. In February 2026 he was indicted on a felony charge accusing him of striking a pedestrian with his vehicle and leaving the scene; the case is pending and the charge is an accusation, not a conviction. He won the May Libertarian primary and faces Greg Landsman and Eric Conroy in November.
