Kyandra Darling is a Democratic candidate for Florida House District 62, a fourth-generation St. Petersburg native, working mother, former congressional-office staff member, former St. Petersburg City Council legislative aide, and nonprofit-sector community organizer. She began her career in Congressman Charlie Crist's office, later aided Councilmembers Steve Kornell and Lisa Wheeler-Bowman, and has collaborated with more than 40 Tampa Bay nonprofits. Her platform emphasizes lower household costs, higher wages, affordable housing and healthcare, public schools, reproductive care, gun-safety measures, mental-health and addiction services, climate resilience, and accountable environmental protection.
