Jorge Borrego is the 2026 Republican nominee for Texas House District 118, an open South Bexar County seat. A former Texas House legislative director, he served as K-12 education policy director for the Texas Public Policy Foundation, where he worked on the state's Education Savings Account program and teacher- and parent-rights legislation; he has also worked in the nonprofit sector and as a realtor. The first in his family to graduate from college, he holds a mathematics degree from UTSA and a Master of Public Policy from Texas A&M. He won the March 2026 Republican primary with 52.5% and faces Democrat Kristian Carranza in November.
