Broward County would charge a 0.25% sales tax—25 cents per $100 of taxable purchases—for five years. It would fund uninsured preventive heart and cancer tests for qualified residents; primary and preventive care for indigent or medically poor residents; and other services in the county health care plan. The tax would end early if the county levies a 1% infrastructure surtax.
