Saginaw County Proposal 26-4 asks voters to renew the county's existing 9-1-1 Authority operating millage at up to 0.2800 mill ($0.28 per $1,000 of taxable value) for ten years, 2028 through 2037. The money would replace outdated radio equipment for fire, police and emergency medical services, fund equipment needed by the 9-1-1 Central Dispatch System to provide 24-hour public safety communications for Saginaw County residents and responders, and otherwise continue operations of the Saginaw County 9-1-1 Authority. If approved and levied in full, the county estimates the renewal would raise about $2,031,015 in its first year.

A YES vote means
A yes vote renews the county's authority to levy up to 0.2800 mill for the Saginaw County 9-1-1 Authority for ten years (2028-2037), continuing funding for emergency dispatch operations and replacement of aging public safety radio equipment.
A NO vote means
A no vote declines to renew the 0.2800 mill levy, so the county would lose that dedicated property tax revenue for the Saginaw County 9-1-1 Authority after the current authorization expires and would have to fund dispatch operations and radio replacement another way or reduce them.
