Ballot Measure
Lenders would lose a tax break when they take commercial or larger apartment buildings after loan defaults. That change in owner would trigger a tax; qualifying smaller homes would keep their current tax break.

Starting March 2027, lenders taking covered properties after loan defaults would pay 0.5%–6% of the full market value in tax. Qualifying smaller homes would keep their current tax break.
A NO vote means
Keep the current tax break for all types of property that lenders take after loan defaults. The city would not get the added tax money this measure could bring.
