Melanie Morgan has represented Washington's 29th Legislative District in the state House since 2019. An Army veteran, she previously served as a Franklin Pierce school-board director and Pierce County Housing Authority commissioner and worked as a mortgage banker and safe-housing coordinator. She is also a housing, domestic-violence, and sexual-assault advocate and earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from Saint Martin's University.
