Clyde Shavers is the Washington state representative for District 10, Position 1, and serves as Assistant Speaker Pro Tempore and vice chair of the House Education Committee. A U.S. Naval Academy graduate and Navy veteran, he served in the Middle East and Southeast Asia before earning a J.D. from Yale Law School and practicing law. Shavers has served on the boards of Skagit Friendship House, Goosefoot, and the Whidbey Veterans Resource Center.

Robert (Chili) Hicks

Robert “Chili” Hicks serves on the Stanwood City Council in Position 4, with a term running from 2024 through 2027. He previously served on the Stanwood Planning Commission. Hicks retired from the U.S. Navy as a Master Chief Petty Officer after a 21-year career, later worked in human resources at Boeing and in telecommunications, and owned a small business. He holds a bachelor's degree, an MBA, and is a graduate of the Navy Senior Enlisted Academy.
