Supports: Public Education Quality
This measure would replace Spokane Public Schools' expiring educational programs and operations levy with three annual excess-property-tax levies. It would collect $107 million in 2028, $111 million in 2029, and $115 million in 2030, with an estimated rate of $2.50 per $1,000 of assessed value each year; exact rates and collections may adjust under applicable law. Revenue would fund education and operating expenses not fully funded by Washington, including class size, advanced courses, special education, nurses, counselors, technology support, safety staff, music, athletics, and extracurricular activities.
A YES vote means
A YES vote authorizes Spokane Public Schools to collect the three replacement excess-property-tax levies for 2028 through 2030 and use the revenue for the listed education and operating programs.
A NO vote means
A NO vote does not authorize the replacement levies, so the district's existing levy would expire after its 2027 collection without this proposed three-year replacement.
