Ballot Measure
This amendment would remove Memphis and Shelby County Public Library employees from the City Charter's categorical civil-service exemption. Library officers would remain exempt, while library employees could be covered by civil-service status and protections. The amended residual exemption provision would not permit removal of civil-service protection from an employee whose position is already covered.

A YES vote means
A YES vote amends Article 34, Section 250 so library employees are no longer categorically exempt from civil service, while library officers remain exempt.
A NO vote means
A NO vote keeps the current charter language categorically exempting all Memphis and Shelby County Public Library officers and employees from civil service.
