Athens-Clarke County unified government (balance), Georgia
My vote power
High

How do we calculate my vote power?
What goes into the rating for ballot measures: Representation: how much weight one vote carries here compared with a statewide vote — the smaller the district, the more each vote counts. You have more power in ballot measures because you vote directly on the policy.
Representation: High · 70 out of 100
This district is a small slice of its state, so each vote here carries much more weight than a vote in a statewide race. About 127,345 people live here.
Show the representation math
score = 50 + 50 × ln(state population ÷ this district's) ÷ ln(50,000) = 50 + 50 × ln(10,940,407 ÷ 127,345) ÷ ln(50,000) = 70.58, measured against a statewide vote in GA (grades: 66+ high, 55+ above average, 33+ average, otherwise low; a statewide race is the 50 baseline)
High representation + a direct vote on the policy → My vote power: High.
Ballot Measure
Supports: Cost of Living Reduction
The referendum would impose a 1% Floating Local Option Sales Tax throughout Athens-Clarke County for five years. Proceeds would be used exclusively to reduce property taxes imposed by Athens-Clarke County, Winterville, and Bogart.
A YES vote means
The 1% sales and use tax would take effect for five years, with proceeds dedicated to property-tax reduction.
A NO vote means
The new 1% sales and use tax would not take effect, and the governments would not receive FLOST revenue for property-tax reduction.
