Tri Ta is a Republican member of the California State Assembly for District 70 (Orange County — Westminster/Garden Grove area), first elected in 2022 and the first Vietnamese American elected to the California Legislature. He previously served on the Westminster City Council (from 2006) and as Mayor of Westminster; he authored a 2023 public-safety law.
