London Lamar is the Democratic member of the Tennessee Senate for District 33, which covers part of Shelby County. Born and raised in Memphis, she served in the Tennessee House of Representatives for District 91 from November 2018 until March 2022, when she moved to the Senate seat she still holds. She chairs the Senate Democratic Caucus, previously served as president of the Tennessee Young Democrats, and belongs to the National Organization of Black Elected Legislative Women and the National Black Caucus of State Legislators. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Saint Mary's College in Indiana in 2013.
