Amelia Gallitano is a physician-scientist, board-certified psychiatrist, and University of Arizona professor running for the Arizona Senate in Legislative District 2. She earned an M.D. and Ph.D. in neuroscience from the University of Pennsylvania, completed psychiatry training at Columbia, joined the founding faculty of the University of Arizona College of Medicine–Phoenix in 2007, and studies how genes and environmental stress affect mental illness.
