Jon Husted is the appointed Republican incumbent in Ohio's 2026 U.S. Senate special election, seeking a full term. Appointed to the Senate in January 2025 to fill JD Vance's seat after Vance became vice president, Husted previously served as Ohio Lieutenant Governor (2019-2025), Ohio Secretary of State (2011-2019), Speaker of the Ohio House (2005-2009), and in the Ohio House and Senate. A University of Dayton graduate, he faces Democratic former Senator Sherrod Brown in November.
