Hannah Pingree

Hannah Pingree is the 2026 Democratic nominee for Governor of Maine. She served in the Maine House of Representatives from 2002 to 2010, becoming the 99th Speaker of the House (2008-2010) and the youngest woman in the nation to hold such a post, then directed Governor Janet Mills's Office of Policy Innovation and the Future from 2019 to 2025, co-chairing the Maine Climate Council. Raised on North Haven island, she is the daughter of U.S. Representative Chellie Pingree.
