Robert G. Luna is the 34th Sheriff of Los Angeles County, in office since December 2022 after defeating incumbent Alex Villanueva. He previously spent 36 years in the Long Beach Police Department, serving as its Chief of Police from 2014 to 2021, and holds a master's degree in public administration from California State University, Long Beach. He is seeking re-election in the November 3, 2026 runoff.
