Daniel Loc Nguyen

Daniel Nguyen is an Oregon State Representative for the 38th District, which includes Lake Oswego and part of southwest Portland, serving since January 2023. Born to Vietnamese refugees who settled in Camas, Washington, in 1975, he founded the restaurant Bambuza Vietnam Kitchen in 2008, which became the longest-running storefront in Portland's South Waterfront. In 2018 he became the first person of color elected to the Lake Oswego City Council, and he has served as a director of the Immigration Counseling Service and Business for a Better Portland and as co-chair of the Portland Community College School of Business and Entrepreneurship advisory committee.
