Mark Finchem is the Republican Arizona state senator for Legislative District 1. He previously served in the Arizona House from 2015 through 2022 and was the Republican nominee for Arizona secretary of state in 2022. Before elected office, he spent 21 years with the Kalamazoo, Michigan, Department of Public Safety as a firefighter-paramedic, law-enforcement officer, and criminal investigator.
