Graham Platner is an oyster farmer and Marine Corps and Army National Guard combat veteran from Maine's coast, the 2026 Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate challenging Susan Collins. Born in Blue Hill, he served eight years in the military with tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, later worked as a State Department security contractor, and took over an oyster farming operation in 2020. He won the June 2026 Democratic primary after Governor Janet Mills suspended her campaign.
