Introduced Senate File 18 as its lead author on January 16, 2025. The bill proposes making it easier for grandparents to win court-ordered visits with a grandchild. It would remove the current requirement that such visits not interfere with the parent-child relationship. It would also let a grandparent or great-grandparent ask for visits based on an established relationship with the child. That replaces today's test, which requires the child to have lived with them for 12 months. The bill had a first reading and went to the Judiciary and Public Safety committee.
