Mari Leavitt has represented Washington House District 28 Position 1 since January 2019 and serves as deputy majority whip and co-chair of the Joint Committee on Veterans' & Military Affairs. A former higher-education and human-services administrator, she worked more than 23 years in higher education and is also a small-business owner and former PTSA leader. She holds a doctorate in community-college leadership and bachelor's and master's degrees in education.
